Well, hello!! Let's get this show on the road!
There have been some new app additions to my phone. Which isn’t really surprising to anyone. I’m always downloading some useless app. Current count: 130. Remember back in the early days of Facebook when you could add applications to your profile? I had over 100 at some point. It took aaages to open my page. The recent batch on my phone includes a train game, song recommendations, and a little self-care “birb.”
Just roll with it,
Edoardo
Yeah, so the train game. Officially titled: Train Station 2: Trains & Rail. It’s a “transport railroad tycoon game.” It’s so low-stakes, so pretty, so simple. You just send your little trains around your towns to complete tasks and get better trains. The more you complete, the more your towns shape up. Sure, you could dump a bunch of money into the game. But…why would you do that? Hot tip: if you click on a train, you’ll zoom in and follow it on its silly, little route.
Have you heard of Kiwi? I hadn’t until recently. It’s the BeReal of music. You get that once-a-day notification and send the song you listened to most recently to your friends. They give it a thumbs up and add it to their playlists. Or they…don’t. But you’ll only know if they like them! Do you always have to send your most recently listened to song? No. Is it more fun that way? Kinda.
Okay, this last app is like the brainchild of a tamagotchi and mental health. Finch: Self Care Widget Pet caught my eye because it has a cute little widget. And I’m a sucker for widgets! You basically hatch this “birb” (not a typo) and then you set goals for the day. As you complete goals, your “birb” (again, not a typo) gains experience and their personality shifts? I’m a little new to this, so we’ll see exactly how this goes. If you’re curious my “birb” is named Harold. He’s currently adventuring. No idea what that means! I’ll be sure to periodically include Harold updates.
