My dearly beloved Thirdies. Today’s newsletter has been sent out a little later than I’d hoped. But it’s quite difficult to write a newsletter while the tv is blasting at volume 100. (Thank you, Papap.) And while the furnace is set to 80ºF. (Again, thank you, Papap.) So, I’m sitting here on the couch typing away in shorts and a t-shirt and screaming over the tv while my grandfather engages me in conversation.
Let’s get into it, Thirdies. We’ve got an update on resolutions, a take on iMessage, and I SAW M3GAN.
xoxo, 3DWARD
To those of you who reached out about the final product on my resolution brainstorm, here you go!
I’m back on my “texting” game now that I’m in the United States and with an American number. Not that I couldn’t be with my Spanish number, but it just never worked out that way. WhatsApp or bust. Now that I’m communicating with a handful of people on iMessage, I have some questions.
Why is it so hard to send a voice message? Voice messages are an art that just cannot thrive there. It’s a gd shame.
Why do voice messages DISAPPEAR? Again, an art. Not a disappearing act. Also, the continuity in the conversation just goes bye-bye.
Why are there only 6 react options? I have many emotions and they certainly can’t be contained within “haha” or “emphasize.”
Why are there no good stickers? I don’t wanna send my effing Memoji. I wanna send my iconic collection of Big Ang and Brittany Broski stickers. I worked hard on them!
Why am I looking at a bunch of letters instead of photos of people? So, you’re telling me I have to (like it’s 2010) add a contact photo to get rid of these capital letters. I hate it. I don’t want to choose your photos. That’s too much stress.
Why are my texts with friends and family in the same place as texts from websites with security codes? It’s so cluttered.
I saw M3GAN over the weekend. It was truly one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. (I don’t watch a lot of movies.) I’m not going to get into any specifics, but if you don’t run to your nearest theatre to watch this masterpiece, you are truly missing out.
Megan is so right. She is mother.
